Miles per Dollar, the New MPG

Great infotisement for the completely electric Nissan LEAF. Chart compares distance traveled by various cars, for the cost of one dollar. Hey, when you've got it (the data on your side), flaunt it.

  1. Beautiful graphic, though a bit of trick, as well. A simple line graph would show that the Leaf beats the one gallon range of its nearest competitor by 38% -- impressive. By using the area of a hemisphere to show the same difference, the graphic gives the impression that the Leaf can travel 91% more miles than the Prius on a gallon of gas. But does it really make a difference?: see David Owen's piece in the New Yorker, The Efficiency Dilemma, Jan 17, 2011.
