Scoring in WIlliamsburg

Williamsburg taqueria La Superior, is a casual low-key kind of place that serves phenomenal tacos and margaritas. For the World Cup tournament they’ve installed a couple of TVs and a custom scoreboard. The festive elimination diagram, designed by a friend of the restaurant, consists of Vasarely-like clusters silkscreened onto plexiglass.

Elsewhere in Williamsburg ...
Notice for a filming of Girls this week.

Happy Cinco

I was delighted to find Magazo on La Paleteria, a site that reposted one of the Soviet space posters I put up the other day. The video was originally posted on Mexicovers.

Here are some of the album covers I found posted
there by Sr. Mexicant.

Primping for Day of the Dead

Illustrator and comics artist Ann Decker had enough foresight to leave the country before the Tea Party comes into power. She lives in Mexico now. Here are two paintings she has in a show for Día de los Muertos. I’m glad to see that Ann hasn’t totally forgotten NYC. She seems to have recalled Manhattan’s social x-rays perfectly.

Check out Ann's website to see more of her work.
