L. Eckstein is a NYC-based graphic designer and artist. When she had a job that came with an office, all matter of visual interest could be tacked up on her wall, or walked down the hall to be shared with a co-worker. Her job no longer comes with an office. This is now her wall—and her hall.
*All my eye and Betty Martin means that something is total and complete nonsense. It is found in British English from the eighteenth century on, but is hardly known today.--World Wide Words
I always love seeing different versions of the same poster. Lovely tribute!
ReplyDeletebrilliant.
ReplyDeletewonderful- and so is your Eye- all of them. pgt
ReplyDeleteBeautiful!
ReplyDeleteThe last, one, though, looks like it might be from Belgium. I don't speak Flemish so I can't tell you for sure if that's the language of "In het heetste," but it seems likely.
Thank you for the comments, Glad I could offer some less seen Liz images (though it is impossible to not look at any image of her).
ReplyDeleteYes, Anonymous, the last poster has the title in French and Dutch (according to the "language detector" feature on Google Translate), so Belgium sounds right.
Suddenly Last Summer, not A place in the Sun...
ReplyDeleteabsolutely a Belgian one. I am a Belgian collector for years now. Belgian posters are realy gourgeous because of their artwork an dcolors. Hunting for them every single day ! :-) seen many great Liz posters from Belgium through the years. Just bought a NATIONAL VELVET with Liz an dMickey Rooney recently twice. One is hanging in my home, the otherone at my girlfriend's place.
